Memorial Weekend

We had a fun weekend hiking, playing, and decorating a cake. Yes I did go hiking at 38 weeks. I had hiked Donut Falls before so I knew it was a short easy hike. Too bad it didn't make me go into labor. Here are a few pictures.

Donut Falls are behind us. Savannah didn't want to pose for the picture.

Daddy and Savannah posing. Savannah wouldn't smile.

Donut Falls - there is a round hole if you look close where the water disappears into and then appears again further down the rocks.

This is the tinkerbell cake I made for Sabrina's birthday. It was inspired by Sophie's cake.

Cute Girl

So Savannah doesn't usually take naps at all any more. Just on rare occasion. We this is the sight I came home to on Sunday after doing visiting teaching interviews. Her dad had gone into the spare bedroom and laid down on the air mattress (we had set it up for a visitor a couple of weeks ago and they didn't end up staying with us and we haven't put it down) to read because it is cooler in that room than in the master bedroom and Savannah brought her dried pears into the room and crawled up on the bed and ate some dried pears and ended up falling asleep while eating pears beside her dad. Sometimes I wish she would still take a nap because she gets aweful cranky, but then we suffer because she won't go to bed until 11pm. So there are trade offs.

Almost Done

We are now actually 38 weeks but this was the last picture I took. So close enough. We have two weeks until our due date and we hope he doesn't wait that long to make his appearance. But family history is not on our side. He will probably be late, but I can keep hoping.

Victory!

On Friday Mitchell took his second actuarial exam (FM). Well half way through his exam he wasn't feeling so good about the test. Three hours after he began he still didn't feel good about the test, the test ended and up popped on the screen "Congratulations!" Yeah he passed! He was thoroughly surprised. The test was very hard. He has taken it before and he said this one was harder. But he was actually prepared this time and good thing he was. We are very proud of him and very excited for the possibilities this opens up for us.

Potty Training

Well about a month and a half ago we got serious about potty training. Someone game us some pullups they didn't need and we were tired of changing diapers on a child who was too stuborn to go on the potty. Well the pullups worked very well for Savannah and encouraging her to go on the potty. She did very well right off peeing in the potty. Going #2 was a different story. She has been dry all night long since she was 18 months old so I knew she could hold it. She has has trouble with constipation for the past 10 months. But a couple of weeks ago over conference weekend her daddy took her to the potty and made her go #2 on the potty a couple of times and then something must have clicked in her head because it has been two weeks now and we have had no accidents! Yeah for us! I just hope we don't have a set back when the baby comes. For now she is doing great and hopefully it will continue to be so.

April so far....

Well April is half over and I can't believe it. It has been a really busy month. We have been to a bridal shower, an easter party, made Mitch a fleece blanket because he liked Savannah's, helped take out a fence, fixed our car (yet again), going to a baby shower, been to the dentist, been to the doctor and have to go again at the end of the month and we manage to watch Liam a couple of times a week. I haven't felt this busy in a long time. I think it all started when my mom came out the end of March for my birthday. We went a lot of places and did lots of things and enjoyed our time together. But life hasn't slowed down yet. And I don't know if it will before June. Oh well. Keeps me happy and not bored. Here are a couple of pictures from this month.

This is me at about 33 weeks.

Savannah on Easter Morning. She wouldn't stand up or smile. Oh well.

Savannah and Liam sitting on the little couch. Liam loves this couch. It is just his height.

Where has the time gone?

Apparently it has been nearly two months since my last post. I don't know where the time has gone. I will do my best to recap what my brain can remember. March ended up having some pretty nice days in it so we went and flew kites with Mitch's family.

Sabrina and Savannah are flying kites. As you can see Savannah isn't too excited about flying them. She would rather be sitting in someones lap where it is safe and the kites won't get her. I thinks the kites were bigger than her so they were a little scary.

Lynette, Jana, and Liam flying kites. Jana and Liam did fly kites even though it doesn't look like it from this picture.

Mitchell enjoying the day with the kites.

March also found us outside playing with chalk. On one particular occasion Liam was here playing too and by the time we went in the house we couldn't find the chalk lid. So our chalk box sat by the stairs for a couple of days without a lid. Well on one of those days I was upstairs for something like a shower or to check my email and Savannah decided to get creative. She found her blue chalk and decided the wall needed a mural. So she drew all over the wall! Thank goodness it was only chalk and it washes off. I am glad I don't leave the markers where she can reach them! Well needless to say the next day when Liam came to visit again the lid to the chalk had conveniently made it into his diaper bag and so our chalk box is again protected from adventurous children. (Liam likes to but things in boxes or bags so if one is nearby he is sure to put something in it. He has put his bottle in the garbage can and the toybox!)

I guess the last little tidbit for March is I just celebrated my 30th birthday! It is a little unnerving to realize that I am now in my 30's and I am really expected to be a responisble adult (not that I lack maturity or anything). I am really not a kid anymore!
