Painting and Sleeping

Savannah finally decided it was ok to get her fingers all dirty while finger painting. I know her eyes are closed but she wouldn't smile in the other picture.

Here is the newest of Savannah's random places to fall asleep. She first started going there as refuge from where her cousin Liam could reach her. But later after he went home she went back to the steps and fell asleep. I think she had dinner this time before she went to sleep.

The Book of Mormon

Savannah has a thing for her dad's Book of Mormon. Here is a video talking about the Book of Mormon.

Ultimate Frisbee Tournament

Another season is done for ultimate frisbee. This year I got Mitch to play with me and he played in the first four games and then he went hunting for the next four weeks. So he played a little bit. Last saturday was our season ending tournament. Our team had almost won all of our games (meaning we lost most of them by only 2 points.) We did actually win a few. So we were down in the bracket. Well we ended up winning our first three games and losing the championship game by you guessed it 2 points. It was a good game and we had fun. Here are a few pictures of a game. I am the one in the blue had and green shirt.

Halloween Pictures

Savannah wanted to be Ariel for Halloween. There was no talking her out of it once she saw it. I tried to get her to be a princess with a shorter skirt so she wouldn't trip but it didn't work. So I had to shorten the skirt a little.

We went to Hee Haws Corn Maze this year with the Moore's. They also had a petting zoo, a hay slide, other slides, a corn cannon, and more things I can't remember. This is a picture of Miranda and Savannah after they went down the 20 ft hay slide. Savannah loved it. I went down it and it was very fast.

Savannah insisted on mopping the floor. So here she is in her dress up shoes mopping the floor.

This is one of Savannah's Halloween outfits from Grandma Pat. She was just a little cheeseball. Too bad she wasn't so smiley for her 2yr pictures.

I don't want to nap anymore!

Savannah hasn't wanted to take naps lately and sometimes it is ok. But other time you can see what happens about 6pm if she doesn't take a nap. And that means mom is up till midnight trying to get someone to go to bed!

Here I was making dinner and she went in the living room and crawled up on the couch and fell asleep.
We sat down for dinner and she pulled her blanket up and it wasn't two minutes and she was asleep. We've tried waking her up but it just doesn't work with her. When she is that tired she's gone.

Here is what we have been up to

First we had Mitch's Birthday. Happy 27!

Then Savannah decided she had a pouty face. So this is it. Isn't she cute!

We tried to get her to open up the umbrella because she has so much fun with it, but instead she opened her mouth.
She is getting really good at saying cheese for the camera. Can you tell?
I wish she was this good at saying cheese when we got her two year pictures taken. She just doesn't like unfamiliar people I guess.
In this picture we went to This is the Place Heritage Park for their Haunted Village. This is a picture of Savannah while we waited in line for an hour in the cold barn.
Here Savannah, Miranda, and I are dancing ring-around-the-rosie at Miya's Wedding.
And here we all fell down.

Happy Birthday Savannah!

Savannah just had her second birthday! I can't believe it. I feel like we just celebrated her first birthday. My parents came out from South Dakota to visit and the rest of the Moore's came up for Savannah's birthday. We had a full house and Savannah had fun. Ariel is her favorite princess, so I made her an Ariel cake for her birthday. When she got up in the morning she saw it on the table she got an excited look on her face and said "Ariel!". I was glad she liked it because it took some time. She kept asking all day if she could eat the ariel cake and was unhappy each time I told her she would have to wait. Here are some picture of the day.

Happy Birthday Savannah!
She is sporting her new dress.

This year she new how to rip open the presents.

Savannah is unhappy she can't have her cake yet.

Yum cake and ice cream!

Here is the cake. This doesn't show all the detail, but you get the idea.

Here is a little video of Savannah riding her hot wheels.

Video Update

Well I think we have all officially memorized Mr. Magoriums Wonder Emporium so that we all can point out the flaws and all the little things that you don't notice going on the first 10 times you watch it. So now we have moved on to Bedknobs and Broomsticks. I hope this fad won't last a month like the last. I find it harder to watch this movie end on end like Mr. Magorium because she wants to watch the same 25 min of the film. You know the part where they go to the Island of Naboomboo. She likes the lion and the bear. We have tried other movies with lions and bears like Robin Hood, but that isn't the one she wants to watch. She also like to sing "bobbing along on the bottom of the briny blue sea." I guess she likes singing and music. I think that is why she liked Mr. Magorium so much is because she liked the piano music so much.

Update

Well as you can see I do fall behind in keeping you all updated. We have done things but I have no pictures. On the Saturday before Memorial Day we helped the Moores harvest about 250 pounds of honey. That project takes nearly all day. We have also started playing in an Ultimate Frisbee League in Orem, UT on saturday mornings. This year I actually convinced Mitch to play with me and I think he is going to enjoy it. I have also been engrossed in reading the book Eldest. It is the sequal to Eragon. Mitch and I both enjoyed reading these books and are now awaiting the release of the third book Brisingr. If you like dragons, elves, dwarves, magic and danger you will like these books. We have also been busy with helping Jana as she has aquired a second job so I help her by watching Liam for a few hours a couple of days a week. Mitch keeps busy with work and trying to study for his next actuarial exam. He did pass his first one the end of July. Savannah has hit the terrible two's even though she isn't two yet. She has recently become stubornly independent. She has to do everything herself. She says "I do!" so I let her try. And then she comes to me for help or just gets mad and throws it. She decided to pick out her dress today so she picked out the had made dress from Mexico her Grandma Net got for her in Cancun. She had never wanted to wear it before today so we were totally willing to let her wear it to church. She is funny she has even developed a favorite shirt she wants to wear all the time. So it isn't fun when it gets dirty and she has to pick something else to wear. She will be two in three weeks! My how the time flies.

Here is Savannah in her hand-made dress from Mexico.

Hair Cut

A couple of weeks ago I cut Savannah's hair in the back for the first time. It was getting a little crazy and it was different lengths. So now her hair is mostly one length and we think she is cute. (You can compare her hair with the previous post.)

Painting

I thought that maybe Savannah might have fun with fingerpaints since we had seen Sofie playing with finger paints. The only thing is I can't get her to use her fingers! She doesn't like to get them dirty so I got out some paint brushes so she paints with paint brushes instead.

Movies

Savannah has taken to watching a few of the same movies over and over again. I don't know if she really likes them or if she just likes the blue cases but these are the same movies we watch all the time.

Savannah loves to watch Mr Magorium's Wonder Emporium. She even can quote parts of the movie like "its magic" and "don't go." She is so cute.

The Sword and the stone is one we have watched frequently in spurts. We either watch it every day or take a break for a while.

Over the Hedge isn't one of my favorites but Savannah seems to be hot and cold about this one too. We go through periods where we watch it every day and then we will go for a few weeks without watching it.

I have got her to watch a princess movie or two, but the covers to those ones aren't as attractive I guess:)

Yellowstone Trip (An Overview)

Well we have far too many pictures to post so here is an overview of what we did and saw on our trip.

First off we stopped by the Idaho Falls temple since we were in the area. It was closed while we were there but we were only stopping by to see it. You can see a little guy up on the spire working on it. It was beautiful and we enjoyed the stop. The River and the falls are right behind the temple so it makes the whole area beautiful and peaceful.

Next we stopped by the Rexburg Temple. By the way this was our first time to these cities. This temple was beautiful as well and I was amazed that it was pretty much located on BYU-Idaho's campus. So we got to look over the campus while we were there as well.

The next day we finally got to the park. The first wildlife we saw when we got to the park was a bald eagle, sorry I have no pictures. Then we spotted (Kristie spotted) two elk on the side of the road next to a picnic area so we pulled over for a closer picture. Here they are on the other side of the stream.

We stopped for lunch at a little picnic spot somewhere in the park and we had a few little friends that came to join us. Here is a picture of one.

We were traveling down the road headed toward old faithful and the hotpots when we encountered a traffic jam. I leaned out the window to see what the hold up was and as you can see we had a buffalo as a pace car. There was a Yellowstone tour bus at the front and he would not pass the buffalo for anything so for a half an hour we followed this buffalo down the road at his pace until he finally found a bit of grass that was adequate to wander into.

There were a great many hot pools to see at Yellowstone. But my favorite one was sapphire pool. It had the most brilliant color of any of the pools.

Here is old faithful in all its glory. I remember going to old faithful as a kid and couldn't understand why it was called old faithful because it was late and we had to wait for it. Well it didn't disappoint me this time it was 15 min late this time too.

Here we are in the car on the way home. I think I was bored and thought I would take a picture of the three of us in the car. Savannah had had enough by this point and was fast asleep. There are many more things here at this park that are noteworthy and memorable, but we will leave them for you all to discover when you go to Yellowstone.

Singing

Savannah was singing really loudly while I was cooking her and egg. So this is a video clip of her singing.

Picture Please

Savannah has been getting out the camera lately and making me take pictures of her. She gets out the camera and cocks her head to the side while holding out the camera. These were just a few of the pictures she made me take.

Wendy this is for you

Savannah loves to eat Honey Bunches of Oats. Random I know. She eats them sometimes three meals a day taking after her Aunt Wendy. I don't have a picture of it on the camera but she will even pick up the bowl or plate and drink the milk.

Our New Apartment

Here is the master bedroom from the doorway and below is the view from the closets.

Savannah's bedroom has an odd shape to it. It has six walls. This view is from the end of Savannah's crib by the door. Below is a sleeping baby.

Below is a picture of her cute curtains.

Here is our kitchen from the doorway to the living room. On the right side are doorways that lead to the bathroom/laundry room and furnace closet. There is also a back door right beside the fridge.
